Well I know nobody's perfect and I haven't been a saint
I've done my share of stupid stuff sometimes along the way
But I don't want to waste time trying to rationalize those things
Because that's really not a hill I want to die upon

I wish that I'd been kinder and I wish I hadn't sulked
I wish I'd had compassion more I wish I'd been more bold
But no amount of wishing hard will ever make it so
Because that ship set sail a long long time ago

And so instead I'll dream of things like trees in spring
And lush pristine coasts

I've changed my mind about a lot of stuff I thought before
Maybe I was ignorant or maybe just not sure
If our thinking can't evolve then what the hell's experience for?
And there's lots of better hills that one could die upon

I see junipers and douglas firs
Covered in white snow

I'm tired of looking backwards I want to see what lies ahead
When I can't change the deeds I've done or any word I said
Cause if you can't keep moving on you may as well be dead
And there's many miles to go before I go to bed

And so I'll look around from sky to ground
And take in everything
